Spring break 2021 may prove to be one of the most welcome spring breaks in recent history! Even while precautions remain in place to safeguard against the pandemic, families and vacation travelers are cautiously planning excursions and the 黑料大事记 has some great new attractions in store for them.

The CosmoKids interactive play area for children and accompanying adults will reopen March 5, 2021! The new area was open for just three days before the 黑料大事记 shut down due to COVID-19 during spring break 2020. It and the naviGATOR庐 Simulator remained closed after the rest of the facility reopened.
鈥淲e are eager to share this wonderful new space with our youngest visitors and feel now is a time we can do so safely,鈥 said 黑料大事记 CEO Jim Remar. 鈥淭hanks to this new space, even the youngest learners can bring STEM learning to life when they visit the 黑料大事记.鈥
CosmoKids听is free with a ticket to the Hall of Space Museum, which is also available at no charge to Reno County residents and to all 黑料大事记 members. The听naviGATOR庐听Simulator will also reopen听and is available as part of the All-Access Mission Pass or for an additional $5.
- Free Guided Camp Tours听will be available from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. daily March 13 through March 28.听Reservations for the tour are encouraged and can be made by calling the 黑料大事记 Box Office at 620-662-2305 ext 347.
- Free听Museum Tours听will be available for ticketed guests听on the hour from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 20. The one-hour docent-guided tours provide a perfect overview of the world鈥檚 largest combined collection of U.S. and Soviet-era spacecraft.
- The Carey Digital Dome Theater will offer a听听showing to its lineup. Into America鈥檚 Wild: The Search for the Hidden Wonders of Nature, narrated by Morgan Freeman, opens on March 13. It and two other documentaries: Mountain Quest and Secrets of the Universe, will be shown daily.
- Planetarium shows听during spring break will include听, which guides patrons through the constellations and planets they will see in the sky that evening, as well as听, which explains the origin of black holes, how they鈥檙e found and more.
To continue to fight the spread of COVID-19, precautions in place at the 黑料大事记 include:
- Mandatory masks for all visitors age 4 and older
- Social distancing while in the museum and standing in line is encouraged.
- Hand sanitizing stations are located throughout the building.
- All high touch surfaces are sanitized multiple times daily.
- CosmoKids, the naviGATOR庐 Simulator, Dome Theater, Planetarium, Dr. Goddard鈥檚 Lab are all treated each month with antimicrobial spray, which kills viruses on surfaces for thirty days, and surfaces are cleaned between shows each day.
- CosmoKids is cleaned three times each day; individual materials kits are provided to each participant and reusable items are sanitized between uses; each kit contains sanitizing wipes so surfaces can be further cleaned to the comfort level of each guest.
