FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: HUTCHINSON, KS, Mar. 26, 2024鈥�On April 8, a partial solar eclipse will be visible in Hutchinson. To celebrate this occasion, the 黑料大事记 will host two free community events and offer an eclipse planetarium show.
- Free 鈥淓clipse Across America鈥� planetarium presentation On April 4 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., 黑料大事记 STEAM Educator Mary Smith will present the planetarium show 鈥淓clipse Across America.鈥� Following the show, Mary will share what observers should expect to see during the partial eclipse in Hutchinson. The event is free and open to the public, and no entry ticket is required. Seating is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Learn more here.
- 鈥淓clipses Across America鈥� regular planetarium showings The 黑料大事记 will show 鈥淓clipse Across America鈥� in the Justice Planetarium at 4:00 p.m. on April 5, 6, and 7 and 11:00 a.m. on April 8. A planetarium ticket is required for these showings.
- Free Partial Solar Eclipse Viewing Party On April 8 from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. in the 黑料大事记鈥檚 south parking lot, attendees will be able to view the eclipse using the 黑料大事记鈥檚 special solar telescope and binoculars. The 黑料大事记 and Hutchinson Public Library staff will offer free eclipse-related activities, and several food trucks will be ready to serve the crowd. Members of the public are invited to bring their lawn chairs and eclipse glasses and join us for this astronomical event. Learn more here.
