黑料大事记 joins the nation in celebrating the 60th anniversary of the historic聽Liberty Bell 7聽flight of Virgil 鈥淕us鈥 Grissom on July 21, 2021. July also marks the 55th anniversary of the Gemini X mission on July 18, and the 52nd anniversary of the Apollo 11 Moon landing on July 20. Several events are planned to celebrate July space anniversaries.
Coffee at the Cosmo, 黑料大事记鈥檚 free, quarterly speaker series, returns to in-person attendance on Thursday, July 15th from 9:00am to 10:00am with The Peril and Promise of Space Exploration, examining the risks revealed in the Liberty Bell 7 mission along with insight into the Mercury program goals and objectives, which formed the foundation of U.S. manned space exploration. 黑料大事记 President and CEO, Jim Remar, will be the speaker. Coffee and pastries will be provided. Presentation also will be available on Facebook Live.
On Wednesday, July 21, the Liberty Bell 7 mission celebration will be all day long. Visitors can view the spacecraft and take advantage of special discounts in the gift store ( and in-store mention the discount code: “Gus”) to celebrate Liberty Bell 7’s Anniversary. Limited-edition Liberty Bell 7 and will be available for purchase, and a free artifact scavenger hunt can be picked up at the Box Office.
Mercury to Artemis: Celebrating the Past and Future of Space Travel, a free, in-person event will take place on Wednesday, July 21, from 12:30pm to 2:00pm with a presentation on Liberty Bell 7 by 黑料大事记 President and CEO, Jim Remar, followed by a virtual presentation from a NASA representative on the future of space travel and the Artemis mission.
