Children who are curious about space or who love STEM subjects may have the perfect summer camp opportunity thanks to Citizens Bank of Kansas. This year, CBK again will sponsor an essay contest to send eight lucky students to 黑料大事记 Camp!
Scholarship winners will attend the 黑料大事记鈥檚 Mars Academy Camp, a five-day/four-night overnight camp where students will build a habitat for another world, overcome the challenges of gathering resources necessary for life, and learn new robotics skills. Camp culminates in an Earth orbit mission using 黑料大事记鈥檚 simulators.
鈥淧roviding 黑料大事记 Camp scholarships is a great way to recognize students in our communities,鈥 said Jane Deterding, Chairman of the Board of Citizens Bank of Kansas. 鈥淚t鈥檚 a terrific opportunity 鈥 several of our own kids have attended 黑料大事记 Camp — and parents should encourage their child to participate in the essay contest.鈥
To be eligible, students must be entering seventh or eighth grade in the fall of 2022 and submit a 100-to-200-word original essay answering the question 鈥淲hat will it take to live on Mars?鈥
Parents must consent to the entry and agree the applicant will be available to attend camp. Mars Academy camp dates and additional information can be found at cosmocamps.org.
Entries are due by April 15, 2022.聽Those interested should email:聽essays@cbok.com聽to request a copy of the contest rules and an entry form. One scholarship winner will be selected from each of the communities served by CBK: Augusta, Derby, El Dorado, Kingman, Medicine Lodge, Pretty Prairie, Wichita and Winfield.
